Saginaw Township Fire Department

Baldwin Awarded Firefighter of the Year

Baldwin Craig Lieutenant Craig Baldwin, a 20 year member of the department, was honored as Saginaw Township Firefighter of the Year during a recent awards dinner.  Lieutenant Baldwin leads the department Technical Rescue Team which involves trench, high angle, confined space, and urban search and requires a much higher level of training beyond that of a firefighter.  Craig has taken this elite team of fire fighters to an even higher level with his vision, professionalism, and hard work, spending countless hours preparing and guiding these fire fighters thru all types of hands on training scenarios. Because of his efforts the department is better prepared to respond and help in any situation we are called to.  Lieutenant Baldwin also has written and received several grants to purchase the specialty equipment needed to support such a team. His commitment and professionalism is truly appreciated.
Outside Burning Regulations

As fall approaches many of you will begin the task of cleaning up leaves and other yard debris.  There are several options available to residents to dispose of this debris, primarily curbside yard waste pick up, and the township brush site.  However, some residents may choose to burn the debris.  Open burning is permitted in Saginaw Township, however it is only permitted under very specific conditions.  Please DO NOT conduct outside burning until you have reviewed all of the regulations contained in the "Burning Regulations" section of this website.
