SAWA was formed in the mid-nineties for the purpose of meeting with other artists and encouraging the use of watermedia, which includes transparent watercolor, acrylic, gouache, casein, and inks.
SAWA meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m., September through May at the Saginaw Art Museum. Meetings include demonstrations, art updates and sharing of work. During the summer months, they have plein air painting outings for members.

The SAWA Art Exhibit will be on display at Saginaw Township Hall July 1 - July 29 during regular business hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
