Significant Rain Event Information

On Monday, August 11th, Saginaw Township received approximately 3” of rain within a two hour period. The intensity and volume of the rainfall exceeded a 100 year storm event and the capacity of the collection system sewers. Several residential and commercial properties have experienced surface flooding and in some situations residential basement backups. . The Township has not seen this type of storm event and surcharging since the 1980s. Many neighborhoods which traditionally do not flood experienced flooding. The Department of Public Services will be out today and the rest of this week assessing the damage from this significant rain event.
