Saginaw Charter Township Department of Public Services will be performing hydrant flushing starting on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Flushing will start in the Northern portion of the Township and crews will work to the South until the project is completed. Flushing will be performed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, until approximately October 24, 2014. The flushing is necessary to flush any sediment or mineral build-up that may take place in the water line and also provides fresher water to the customer. The sediment does not affect water quality, but may cause some discoloration to your tap water. The water is safe to drink and the discoloration often disappears within a short time. Motorists are urged to slow down where flushing is taking place and to exercise caution for the safety of our workers and those traveling.
