Department Of Public Services - Water Distribution And Billing

The Department of Public Services (D.P.S.) maintains the potable water distribution system within the Township. The distribution system is composed of approximately 235 miles of watermain, 2400 watermain valves, 2200 fire hydrants, and a 750,000 gallon elevated storage facility. The D.P.S. has several preventative maintenance programs that protect the integrity of the water distribution system.

Automatic Bill Payment Service

Saginaw Charter Township Government participates in the new Automatic Bill Payment Service. As a Water and Sewer customer, you have the opportunity to have your bill deducted from your checking or savings account on the bill due date. If you are interested in signing up for this bank drafting service, please contact the Water Department to have a form sent to you or click on the link below to print a form. Once you have signed up for this service you will still receive a regular water bill which will indicate bank drafting on it. Final bills can not be bank drafted.

The Saginaw Charter Township Department of Public Services is committed to providing you with the safest and most reliable water supply.

Distribution System:

The Saginaw Charter Township Department of Public Services maintains the distribution system within the Township. The distribution system is composed of approximately 235 miles of watermain, 2400 watermain valves, 2200 fire hydrants, and a 750,000 gallon elevated storage facility. The Department of Public Services has several preventative maintenance programs that protect the integrity of the water distribution system. Example: Fire hydrants are flushed and pressure checked two times per year to purge the system, remove sediment, and repair if necessary to provide proper fire protection.

Concerning Lead in Our Water:

There are no lead watermains or water services in Saginaw Charter Township. Any detection of lead in the drinking water has a direct relationship to the type of plumbing materials that were used in your home. Infants and young children are typically more vulnerable to lead in drinking water than the general population.
